Stargazing at Weardale Railway
Enjoy Weardale's dark skies on Wednesday 22nd October 1730 – 2030
The experience commences from 1730 at Stanhope Station (DL13 2YS) with exciting space themed activities for all the family, this will be followed by a train ride departing at 1800 from Stanhope to a unique location where you will disembark and enjoy stargazing using telescopes and while listening to our experts from the Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society.
Pre-booking is essential; includes light refreshments and a space themed gift for all the children. You will need to bring along a folding chair(s). You should be aware that the experience means you will be climbing on and off the train so suitable footwear and a reasonable level of fitness is required.
*Please note in the event of cloudy skies the event will still go ahead however the telescope experience will be replaced with an alternative activity.
